I understand that when your child is struggling, the impact on you is huge. Pressure on parents about your child's behaviour, attendance and learning needs can feel relentless and at times, unhelpful.
The following support for parents and carers is available:
- I can talk with you about your child's progress at school as well as any concerns you have about home life.
- Regular review meetings are recommended when your child is in therapy.
- I can link up with your child's school and offer support to school staff.
-I can attend meetings with you and signpost you to other sources of support.
-I can contribute to Education Health and Care Needs Assessments, Special Educational Needs Tribunals and Annual Reviews.
-I can help you navigate Special Educational Needs processes.
I understand the complexities, challenges and rewards of working in education today.
-I can provide a 121 reflective space for professional supervision for school leaders and staff.
-I can facilitate Work Discussion groups for leaders and staff. Work Discussion offers a chance for staff to make sense of work-based experiences from the everyday to the extreme.
- I can deliver bespoke training for staff groups.
I run Work Discussion Groups based on the model described in Rustin and Bradley's Work Discussion.
They are a a powerful way of creating vital thinking and breathing space for staff from any type of organisation and are widely used across disciplines.
I have experience of facilitating work discussion sessions for groups of staff from the Student Union of a London University: I worked with various teams from marketing and finance to student welfare and advice. I worked with groups of staff, team leaders and senior managers.
I have 6 years experience as Work Discussion seminar leader on the Advanced Diploma in Educational Psychotherapy course teaching trainee Educational Psychotherapists.
I offer online clinical supervision for Educational Psychotherapists and Child Psychotherapists from other psychodynamic modalities.
I enjoy supporting my supervisees develop their skills and pursue areas of special interest. It is important for therapists to be able to find their own style and I am here to nurture that. My supervisees work in a range of settings from independent schools to specialist, private practice and mainstream schools.
